Phantom, one of the largest wallets on the Solana network, experienced an outage on Monday that caused users to see incorrect information on their account balances. According to a statement from the Phantom team, the problem started around 4 p.m. Turkish time and was resolved about three hours later. The company said that the browser plugin and mobile app were working, but that there was still a “major issue” and sent a message to users saying, “Your funds are safe.” The outage occurred during decentralized app Grass' airdrop event, which was scheduled to distribute 10% of GRASS tokens.
In a statement on social media platform X, Phantom informed users that some services may be temporarily disabled, suggesting that those who want to make urgent transactions should ignore simulation errors and use a dapp. This is not the first outage this year, as Phantom had similar balance update and display issues in February and August.
