Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, drew attention to the crypto market with his post about Ethereum. His remarks, along with Trump’s decision to suspend tariffs on Canada and Mexico, may have contributed to Ethereum surpassing the $2,900 level.
On February 3, Eric Trump posted that it was a “great time to add Ethereum” but later deleted the statement. His comments came right after a major downturn in the crypto market, which may have had a positive impact on ETH’s price.
During this period, Trump family-affiliated World Liberty Financial (WLF) transferred $307.41 million worth of crypto assets to Coinbase. WLF also converted 20,000 Lido Staked Ethereum (stETH) into ETH and purchased 1,826 ETH for $5 million USDC. According to analysts, these funds could be used to support WLF’s yet-to-be-launched "Earn and Borrow" lending protocol.
