The data, which came in at 3.3% versus the 3.4% market expectation, caused short-term volatility in the crypto market but failed to create a lasting price impact.
Bitcoin, which was trading around the $72,000 range before the release, moved up by about $300 shortly after the data but later stabilized. Ethereum (ETH) showed no notable change in price, while altcoins saw limited and temporary movements. According to Coingecko, Bitcoin is trading at $72,264 and Ethereum at $2,217 at the time of writing.
Inflation was previously announced at 2.4% in February, and despite the lower-than-expected March data, no clear market direction has emerged. Still, the market continues to closely watch the Federal Reserve’s interest rate policy and next steps.
