The US Treasury Department continues its fight against the use of cryptocurrency to violate money laundering and terrorism financing laws. A national strategy report released yesterday listed cryptocurrency exchanges and organizations that the Treasury Department has sanctioned to combat illicit financing.
Examples included settlements reached with Bitzlato, Lazarus and Binance.
The Ministry's priorities include addressing gaps in anti-money laundering regulations, creating a more effective and risk-focused framework, increasing the effectiveness of law enforcement, and using technological innovations. In line with these priorities, it was emphasized that it is important to improve the supervision mechanisms related to cryptocurrencies.
