Why is Acala Network (ACA) down today? (May 22, 2023)

Acala Network is an EVM-compatible decentralized finance (DeFi) smart contract platform that runs on Polkadot’s secure structure. The protocol offers a variety of DeFi products and services, including lending, borrowing, and staking, using Polkadot’s security, user experience, minimum transaction fees, and scalability features. Acala Network’s native token, ACA, is used to perform transactions on the platform.

ACA is down 4.88% in the last 24 hours. Token unlocks are significant developments in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Locked tokens cannot be traded in any way. However, thanks to token unlocks, locked tokens become tradable. Token unlocks affect the supply of a cryptocurrency project. An increase in the circulating supply of a token may change its price. ACA’s token unlock will take place on May 25. We can consider this upcoming event as one of the reasons for the decline of ACA.
