Sora Ventures has launched a $1 billion Bitcoin treasury fund in Asia, marking a major step toward expanding institutional BTC adoption.
Unveiled at Taipei Blockchain Week, the fund begins with $200 million in initial commitments and aims to accumulate $1 billion worth of Bitcoin within six months. The initiative is designed to encourage Asia-based firms to adopt MicroStrategy-style treasury models by adding BTC to their balance sheets.
The fund will support strategies similar to those of Japan’s Metaplanet and U.S.-based companies like Moon Inc., DV8, and BitPlanet. By holding Bitcoin, these firms seek to diversify reserves and benefit from long-term appreciation. Sora Ventures believes the fund will help accelerate adoption of this model across Asia.
With inflationary pressures driving firms worldwide to seek stronger reserves, Bitcoin has increasingly been adopted as a store of value. Following MicroStrategy’s lead, Asian companies such as Metaplanet have already joined the trend. Sora Ventures’ new fund could significantly amplify regional institutional demand, potentially impacting BTC’s price in the months ahead.
