Asian Food Giant Shifts Treasury Strategy with Bitcoin Investment

Asia-based food company DDC Enterprise (DDC) has entered the crypto market as part of a long-term treasury strategy by investing in Bitcoin.

CEO Norma Chu announced that the company acquired 21 BTC in exchange for 254,333 Class A shares, valued at approximately $2.28 million. DDC plans to increase its holdings to 100 BTC in the coming days through two additional purchases, with further goals of reaching 500 BTC within six months and 5,000 BTC over the next three years.

While more public companies are adopting Bitcoin as a corporate reserve asset, DDC’s move failed to spark the expected market enthusiasm. On the day of the announcement, DDC’s stock dropped by more than 12%, in contrast to other firms like DigiAsia (FAAS), which saw its stock surge over 90% in a single session after revealing a $100 million Bitcoin investment plan. The contrast highlights how investor reactions to crypto strategies can vary widely depending on context and execution.
