The Basel Committee report revealed that the 19 largest financial institutions worldwide hold cryptocurrencies worth €9.4 billion. Crypto assets belonging to 10 banks in the Americas account for about a third of the total €9.4 billion.
The latest report from the Basel Committee, the global banking regulatory standard, also estimates that global banks' exposure to crypto is 0.01%, as the 19 largest financial institutions hold €9.4 billion worth of crypto.
According to the data, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) were the most widely held cryptocurrencies. Among 19 institutions, Bitcoin exposure was 31%, while Ethereum exposure was 22%.
