Blockchain | What is On-Chain?

This refers to data and transactions recorded on a blockchain, also known as being on-chain. In other words, any new transaction added to the blockchain requires the creation of a new block on the blockchain. To ensure the validity of these transactions, certain open-source consensus protocols must be followed. Newly created blocks are transparently and irreversibly broadcasted on the network for addition to the chain. If deemed appropriate, these transactions are then confirmed by miners. This process takes more time than off-chain transactions.
