Key Timeline Set for Clarity Act as Senate Review Begins in January

The long awaited Clarity Act, which aims to define the structure of crypto markets in the US, is set to enter formal review in Senate committees in January.

David Sacks, the White House official overseeing artificial intelligence and crypto policy, announced that a critical stage has been reached for the proposed market structure legislation. According to Sacks, the bill will be formally taken up by Senate committees at the start of the new year.

Following discussions with Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott and Agriculture Committee Chair John Boozman, Sacks confirmed that the markup process will begin in January. In a social media post, he stated that the legislation, which has the backing of President Donald Trump, is closer than ever to becoming law.

The proposal seeks to clarify regulatory boundaries in the digital asset market. After passing the House of Representatives in July with strong bipartisan support, attention has now shifted to the Senate process. Lawmakers are expected to review, amend, and eventually advance the bill to a full Senate vote, potentially merging it with parallel Senate proposals during the January deliberations.
