The U.S.-based Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has added five spot XRP ETFs to its “active and pre-launch” category, fueling expectations of imminent approval. The move is seen as a strong indication that long-awaited XRP ETF approvals may be just around the corner.
According to DTCC data, five funds from Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, 21Shares, Canary, and CoinShares are now listed as active and pre-launch. While DTCC listing does not guarantee final approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), previous Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF listings followed a similar pattern before approval, suggesting growing momentum among major issuers to expand into altcoin-based ETFs.
Recent reports indicate that the SEC has initiated an expedited review process for ETF issuers, allowing compliant funds to go live between mid and late November. Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg stated that their fund is ready to launch next week, while Nate Geraci noted that the first wave of XRP ETFs could begin trading very soon.
Following the U.S. Senate’s provisional budget deal to avoid a government shutdown, delays in SEC reviews are also expected to ease, potentially paving the way for faster progress on XRP and other altcoin ETF applications.
