Reports suggest Dogecoin could see its first-ever ETF launch as soon as next week.
Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas revealed that REX Shares has filed a prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, potentially paving the way for Dogecoin’s ETF approval. This product would grant investors direct exposure to DOGE’s price action through a traditional exchange, a move expected to create major buzz in the crypto market.
The ETF, expected to trade under the ticker DOJE, follows the same “40 Act” regulatory path used previously for a Solana staking fund. Through this structure, the fund enables indirect access to DOGE holdings, a method experts describe as a “regulatory end-around.”
If approved, the Dogecoin ETF would mark a historic milestone by providing institutional investors with direct access to the meme coin. While other firms have submitted DOGE ETF applications in the past, none have succeeded so far. Currently trading at $0.21 with a market cap of $32 billion, Dogecoin has gained 116% in the last year but still sits 54% below its December 2024 peak of $0.46.
