Eric Trump, son of U.S. President Donald Trump, praised China’s influence on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies during the BTC Asia event in Hong Kong, saying the U.S. and China are setting the global direction in digital finance.
Speaking on a panel, Trump said China has had an “unbelievable impact” on crypto and highlighted the Middle East’s rapid adoption as well. He emphasized that the U.S.–China relationship is key to the future of digital finance. When asked if Bitcoin might be discussed in the upcoming talks between his father and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump suggested broader economic issues would dominate, though he personally would like to see such a dialogue.
Eric Trump described Bitcoin as a force that brings together people from diverse cultures and communities, calling it a major value for humanity. In his view, Bitcoin forms one of the most inclusive global communities, making it far more than just an investment asset.
He also argued that under his father’s leadership, the U.S. has made rapid progress in crypto, claiming more advancements have been achieved in the past seven months than in the previous decade. He credited this progress to political support and strong inflows from Wall Street, pension funds, and sovereign funds. Meanwhile, American Bitcoin, the mining company co-founded with his brother, is preparing for a Nasdaq IPO after raising $220 million and plans to expand its Bitcoin holdings.
