The Ethereum network is preparing for a gradual transition to Ethereum 2.o. Altair, an important upgrade during the transition, is the first upgrade on Beacon Chain. The Merge, which is expected to be implemented at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, will start a new era in Ethereum.

The Ethereum Foundation has announced that the Altair Upgrade is a preparatory update on Beacon Chain. With this update, some software fixes and some renewals in validator rewards have been made to the network. The update, which also fixed some synchronization and calculation issues, took place on Wednesday, October 27.
The Latest Status on Beacon Chain:
As of November 1, 2021, the amount of ETH locked in Beacon Chain, one of the most important structures of Ethereum 2.0, has exceeded 8 million. The average amount of ETH staked on the network is 33,25 ETH, while the number of active validators is 252,478.
