Flare CEO Hugo Philon stated that the two-and-a-half-year lawsuit between the SEC and Ripple affected Ripple's growth. Philon stated that many alternatives to Ripple's primary use area have emerged in the period from the beginning of the case until today, "Ripple Labs will take time to compensate for the two and a half year delay." According to Philon, cross-border transactions remain Ripple's primary use case.
