The South Korean government will impose a tax on Crypto Airdrops. While it is stated that the transfer of crypto assets through airdrops falls within the scope of the Inheritance and Transfer Tax Law, a government official said about airdrops, "It will be applied as a gift tax to the third party to whom the digital asset is transferred free of charge, that is, the airdrop recipient."
In the statement made by the South Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance, it was noted that taxation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and will vary between 10% and 50%.
