Helius Medical Kicks Off Corporate Treasury Strategy with 760K SOL Purchase

Helius Medical Technologies has made its first move in a $500 million digital asset strategy by purchasing over 760,000 Solana (SOL).

The U.S.-based company acquired a total of 760,190 SOL at an average price of $231, with the current value standing at around $167 million. The firm had announced its ambitious $500 million Solana treasury plan in September, a move that sent its shares soaring by 250%.

Backed by Pantera Capital and Summer Capital, the strategy aims to gradually build up the company’s Solana holdings over the next 12–24 months, while also exploring staking and DeFi opportunities. Board chairman Joseph Chee highlighted the strong support from the ecosystem, while Pantera Capital partner Cosmo Jiang emphasized that acquiring below market prices showcases disciplined capital management.

This move underscores Solana’s growing role in corporate treasuries. Forward Industries currently leads with roughly $1.6 billion worth of SOL, while Helius still holds over $335 million in cash reserves that may be deployed in future Solana acquisitions. With such developments, Solana is increasingly positioning itself alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum as a strong institutional alternative.
