In its latest announcement, Tether announced that it will stop supporting the EOS and Algorand blockchains. Starting June 24, 2024, Tether will stop issuing USDT on EOS and Algorand, and will continue to maintain USDT exchange services on these two blockchains for the next 12 months.
The company noted that community interest and the network's security architecture played an important role in bringing USDT to specific blockchains. After extensive consideration, Tether has decided to discontinue support for EOS and Algorand. Tether emphasized that it will continue to support protocols and chains that the community finds useful and will encourage the use of USDT in each protocol.
