Japanese Investment Giant Stable on Bitcoin: 7x Gain in 10 Months!

Japan-based investment firm Metaplanet Inc. announced on Monday that it has purchased another 156.78 BTC ($10.4 million), bringing its Bitcoin holdings to 1,018.17 BTC ($68.8 million). CEO Simon Gerovich noted that this size makes the company one of the largest institutional Bitcoin holders in Asia, emphasizing that the company recognized Bitcoin as a strategic treasury reserve asset in May and has since accelerated its BTC purchases.

Last week, Metaplanet, which raised about 10 billion yen ($66 million) in a capital increase, also announced that it does not offer Bitcoin shares to shareholders and has not paid dividends in the past. The company's Japanese-listed share price rose 5.9% to 1,137 yen on Monday, up 14.7% in the last month and 610% year-to-date.
