Justin Sun Defends Meme Coins at Trump’s Private Dinner

Tron (TRX) founder Justin Sun attended a private dinner hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump, where he met with holders of the TRUMP token.

Following the event, Sun defended meme coins against ongoing criticism, stating that these tokens play a vital role in driving innovation and adoption within the crypto space. He cited Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) as examples that brought millions of new users into the crypto ecosystem, adding, “Some succeed, some fail — that’s the nature of entrepreneurship.”

Sun also dismissed the recent “bribery” accusations surrounding the TRUMP token as “short-sighted and misguided.” He praised Trump’s pro-crypto stance, claiming it is encouraging companies—discouraged by the previous Biden administration—to reconsider the U.S. as a base for operations. According to Sun, several investors at the dinner had previously planned to exit the U.S., but have changed course due to the Trump administration’s favorable approach.

While legal issues surrounding Sun in the U.S. remain a topic of interest, the SEC under Trump’s leadership has reportedly halted investigations against him. Sun views this as a sign of America’s renewed commitment to embracing the crypto industry.
