Long Term ETH Cycle Claim Sparks Debate Across the Market

The idea that recent market weakness may stem from major balance sheet gaps and that ETH could be entering a long term cycle has generated broad discussion in the crypto space.

Analyst Tom Lee said the latest volatility signals a structural issue and suggested that large players may be triggering liquidations. Although this creates temporary pain, he argued that the long term outlook remains intact.

Lee highlighted growing institutional structure around ETH and suggested it may be part of a longer cycle. Recalling Bitcoin’s history of deep pullbacks, he noted that volatility is inherent to the market and that major gains often come to those who endure these phases.

His optimistic view on ETH drew criticism from some community members who argued that ETH has no unique advantage and questioned whether traditional finance would truly adopt this infrastructure. Lee countered that sustainable use cases and institutional participation will be the real test. He also said current stress is temporary and expects recovery to begin within six to eight weeks after Thanksgiving while advising against the use of leverage.
