Japan-based investment firm Metaplanet has added another 330 BTC to its holdings, increasing its total Bitcoin reserves to 4,855 BTC.
The purchase was made following Bitcoin's rise above $87,300, pushing the value of Metaplanet’s digital assets past $420 million. With this move, the company reinforces its position as one of Japan’s leading crypto investors. Metaplanet tracks the performance of its Bitcoin holdings using a proprietary metric called “BTC Yield,” which measures BTC growth per share. The company has set an annual target of 100% for this metric.
In the previous quarter, BTC Yield stood at 12.1%, but recent figures show it has surged to 95%. In addition to Bitcoin, Metaplanet is expanding its broader digital asset portfolio to build a more resilient financial structure against market volatility. Following this latest purchase, the company’s stock on the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose by 0.9%.
