Japan-based investment firm Metaplanet continues its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy. In just two days, the company spent approximately $71 million on Bitcoin. On Wednesday, Metaplanet purchased an additional 160 BTC for $13.3 million, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 4,206 BTC.
Earlier on Tuesday, the company announced its largest Bitcoin purchase to date, acquiring 696 BTC. These purchases have made Metaplanet the largest publicly listed Bitcoin holder in Asia and the ninth-largest globally.
As part of its investment strategy announced in April 2024, Metaplanet aims to reach 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026. The company has already spent $359.8 million on Bitcoin. Bitcoin, meanwhile, has increased by 1.2% in the last 24 hours, trading at around $84,375.
