On-chain data reveals that a major investor, after suffering heavy losses in a short period, has exited digital assets and rotated into a gold-backed alternative.
According to data shared by Lookonchain, an unknown whale who lost around 18.8 million dollars in crypto trades over the past two weeks has completely changed investment strategy. The move suggests a clear shift away from high volatility toward capital preservation.
Blockchain records show that after closing crypto positions, the investor spent a total of 14.58 million dollars within seven hours to acquire 3,299 units of a digital asset fully backed by physical gold. The purchases were made at an average price of 4,421 dollars.
This rotation highlights growing demand for safe-haven instruments amid rising market uncertainty. The behavior of large wallets suggests that risk-off strategies may become more common in the near term, with gold-linked digital assets increasingly viewed as a hedge during turbulent periods.
