Mining | What is Cryptocurrency Mining?

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency coins that use proof-of-work consensus protocols utilize cryptocurrency mining to secure the blockchain and verify transactions. This process ensures the resilience of the ecosystem against attacks while keeping the blockchain safeguarded. Cryptocurrency mining utilizes processing power, known as Hash Rate, to solve complex algorithmic encryption, also referred to as mathematical encryption. Users, called miners, use their processing power to validate transaction blocks sent to the system and record them on the blockchain network. Through this validation process, the problem of double-spending is eliminated. Miners are then rewarded with the respective cryptocurrency coin for contributing to the verification process on the network. This entire process is referred to as mining.
