While cryptocurrencies do not yet have legal status in Namibia, the Bank of Namibia (BON), the country's central bank, has announced that it is "incorporating digital assets and digital asset service providers into its Fintech Innovations Regulatory Framework in a phased approach through its innovation hub."
The BON also stated in a statement that although cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) are still not legally recognized, they can be accepted as payment if retailers and dealers are "willing to participate in such an exchange or trade"
