The Telecommunications Authority of Nepal has instructed all internet service providers (ISPs) to block the operation and management of websites, applications or online networks related to cryptocurrencies.
Nepal had banned cryptocurrency activities, including trading and mining, in September 2021. Despite the bans, Nepal ranks 16th in Chainalysis' 2022 Global Cryptocurrency Adoption Index, ahead of countries such as the United Kingdom and Indonesia.
