One of Russia’s largest financial institutions, Moscow Exchange, has announced a major step into the crypto space by introducing new indexes tracking four leading altcoins. This move highlights the growing integration between traditional finance and digital assets in the region.
Starting May 13, the new indexes will track real-time price movements of Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), Tron (TRX), and BNB. The index calculations will rely on data aggregated from global exchanges, weighted as follows: Binance 50%, Bybit 20%, OKX 15%, and Bitget 15%.
Alongside these additions, existing Bitcoin and Ethereum indexes will continue to be updated. MOEXBTC and MOEXETH will refresh every 15 seconds during trading sessions, ensuring investors receive near real-time data. The new indexes will be listed under the tickers MOEXSOL, MOEXXRP, MOEXTRX, and MOEXBNB.
Looking ahead, Moscow Exchange aims to expand its crypto index offerings to a total of 10. However, these instruments will initially be available only to professional investors, reflecting a strategy to provide regulated and controlled access to the crypto market for institutional participants.
