Russia's central bank will test the use of cryptocurrencies in international payments, Russian news agency TASS reported.
First Deputy Chairperson of the Central Bank Olga Skorobogatova said in the State Duma (lower house) that the Bank of Russia plans to test the use of cryptocurrencies for international payments within the framework of the regulatory sandbox.
"We currently plan to test using cryptocurrency for international payments, meaning for international economic activities, within the framework of the regulatory sandbox," Skorobogatova said.
Skorobogatova noted that the pilot project will be implemented together with relevant market participants.
