SEC Halts Trading of Crypto-Treasury Firm After 10x Stock Surge!

The SEC has temporarily halted trading of QMMM Holdings after its shares soared nearly tenfold in just three weeks following a crypto investment announcement.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has suspended trading of Nasdaq-listed QMMM Holdings after its stock skyrocketed by 959% in three weeks. According to Bloomberg, the surge followed the company’s announcement that it planned to establish a $100 million diversified crypto treasury, investing in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL).

Regulators cited concerns that the sudden rally was fueled by anonymous social media promotions, raising red flags about potential market manipulation. The SEC stressed that investor protection requires closer scrutiny of such extraordinary price swings, casting doubt on the sustainability of the stock’s rapid rise.

In recent months, several companies have drawn investor attention by adding crypto to their balance sheets or announcing new digital-asset treasuries. While such moves often spark sharp gains, the QMMM case highlights how regulators are becoming increasingly cautious and prepared to intervene. When stock surges are linked to crypto-related hype, manipulation risks and investor safety remain top priorities.
