Known for its aggressive long-term Bitcoin (BTC) accumulation strategy, Strategy is now shifting away from its “never sell” narrative toward a more flexible and math-driven approach. Speaking to CNBC, CEO Phong Le said the company’s future decisions will be guided by financial efficiency rather than ideology. According to Le, the primary goal is maximizing shareholder value through data-driven management.
The first condition for a potential Bitcoin (BTC) sale is tied to dividend payments related to STRC preferred shares. If selling Bitcoin creates a more efficient outcome for investors compared to issuing new shares, the company may choose to liquidate part of its holdings. Strategy emphasized that protecting the amount of “Bitcoin per share” remains one of its core priorities.
The second criterion involves tax optimization. The company may strategically sell Bitcoin (BTC) in order to gain tax advantages or better manage financial obligations. Phong Le stated that this approach would strengthen the firm’s balance sheet management and reflects how institutional investors increasingly view Bitcoin not only as a reserve asset, but also as an actively managed financial instrument.
