Speaking at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)- COMCEC Central Banks Forum, Sahap Kavcioğlu, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), stated that it is important to work on the possibilities of using central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
Kavcioğlu noted the following regarding CBDCs:
"Encouraging the use of national currencies in inter-country trade and working on the possibilities of using central bank digital currencies are two important issues to be considered in this regard."
