Rishi Sunak, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer, who has made warm statements on cryptocurrencies, has become the UK's new prime minister.
The UK's hopes for innovation-friendly regulations that could propel the stagnant cryptocurrency industry forward were dashed when former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak stepped down in July; however, the country's new Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Richard Fuller, said in a statement that the UK government was ready to move forward with Sunak's plans to make the country an international hub for cryptocurrency. After resignation of British Prime Minister Liz Truss, cryptocurrency supporter Rishi Sunak became the country's new prime minister.
