G20 Seeks to Build Policy Consensus on Crypto

Ajay Seth, India’s Federal Economic Affairs Secretary, stated that the G20 wants to build a policy consensus on crypto assets for better global regulation.

Earlier this month, India, the world's third-largest economy and second-most populous country, assumed the G20 presidency for the first time, which it took over from Indonesia. India is hosting the group’s first Finance and Central Bank Deputies meeting in Bengaluru on December 13-15.

At the press conference on the second day of the forum, Seth stated that the effects of crypto assets on the economy, monetary policy, and banking industry should be examined to inform this consensus.
