Bitcoin-friendly Sitiveni Rabuka has just become Prime Minister of the Pacific Islands of Fiji. The election of a pro-Bitcoin Prime Minister is a positive signal that the public may adopt Bitcoin in the future.
Lord Fusitu, a former member of the Tongan parliament, said that he had been in touch with Fiji's new Prime Minister about how Bitcoin can be made a legal tender. “The new PM is definitely pro-Bitcoin,” he said, according to Cointelegraph. And the new PM had wanted Lord Fusitu to “walk him through step by step, how he could adopt Bitcoin legal tender.”
Fiji, which has serious development problems, consists of more than 330 islands and is located in the Pacific Ocean.
