Founded by Eric Schiermeyer in 2020, Gala Games is an ecosystem based on blockchain-based games and NFTs. Participants generate tokens by playing games or earn tokens in the Play-to-Earn system. As an Ethereum-based project, GALA aims to bring creative thinking back to dominate the industry by giving users control of games and in-game assets with the help of blockchain technology. Players can own NFTs and have a say in the management of games in the Gala Games ecosystem.
The GALA Token runs on the Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) blockchain, and its network is secured by its own set of validators called “Founder's Nodes”. There are a maximum of 50,000 Founder's Nodes that ensure in-game transactions and the network.
Many factors may have contributed to GALA’s rise. On Jan. 8, Gala announced a collaboration with movie stars Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg. The GALA Token is used as Gas on Gala Film and Gala Music, which leverage the Web3 service by rewarding node operators and token holders for their support of the decentralized network where movies and music are stored. Additionally, Jason Brink, producer of Gala's film Barbarian: Path of the Berserker, has recently announced that the company will make a big comeback to mobile. Brink hasn’t revealed details but has pointed out what that might mean for the Gala project. All of this may have given GALA an upward momentum.
