The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) today announced that it will host the launch party for its virtual reality classroom on the Metaverse.
Pan Hui, Professor of Media and Art at the Guangzhou campus, told the South China Morning Post, "A lot of guests may be overseas and unable to attend the opening, so we will have our opening via Metaverse."
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology plans to create a learning environment that virtually connects two campuses in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
By virtually connecting the campuses, HKUST hopes to help students overcome geographical constraints when attending classes.
