The previous day, Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York asked Tether to prove that the stablecoin Tether (USDT) supports its name verbatim.
The documents requested by the court from the USDT stablecoin issuer Tether included general ledgers, balance sheets, income statements, income statements, cash flow statements and profit and loss statements.
In a statement from Tether, stating that these are part of routine discovery in court cases,
"We had already agreed to provide sufficient documentation to establish the reserves backing USDT... The dispute was about the scope of the documentation... As always, we look forward to the plaintiffs dropping their baseless lawsuit in due course."
