The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Economy has announced the opening of headquarters in the Metaverse.
According to Gulf News, the announcement was made by UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri at the Dubai Metaverse Assembly meeting on September 28. "This is not a Proof of Concept, this is our third address," Minister Al Marri said at the virtual headquarters.
The headquarters will be housed in a multi-story building, each serving a different purpose. The new headquarters will complement the ministry's two existing offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and will allow the ministry to make digital services a bigger part of its operations, following directives from the UAE administration.
The announcement follows the Metaverse strategy unveiled in Dubai on July 18, which aims to create 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030 and support the government's vision to increase the number of blockchain companies to five times the current number.
