Why is ApeCoin (APE) down? (July 12, 2023)

ApeCoin was inspired by the Bored Ape Yacht Club, one of the world’s most popular NFT collections created by Yuga Labs. Yuga Labs serves as a community member in the ApeCoin DAO. ApeCoin is supported by the APE Foundation. APE holders make governance decisions collectively. They cast their votes to make decisions on issues such as fund allocation, rules, partnerships, project selection, and more. The APE Foundation implements governance decisions made by the community. ApeCoin serves many purposes in the ecosystem, including enabling ApeCoin holders to participate in the governance of the DAO and giving them access to special features of the ecosystem such as games, events, products, and services.

APE is down 0.47% in the last 24 hours. Token unlocks are significant developments in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Locked tokens cannot be traded in any way. However, thanks to token unlocks, locked tokens become tradable. Token unlocks affect the supply of a cryptocurrency project. An increase in the circulating supply of a token may change its price. APE’s upcoming token unlock, scheduled for July 16, may have negatively impacted APE.
