Why is Astar (ASTR) going up? (June 19, 2023)

Founded by Sota Watanabe in 2019, Astar (previously known as Plasm) is a multi-chain decentralized application hub on Polkadot that supports EVM, Web Assembly, and Layer 2 solutions. ASTR is the network’s governance token. ASTR holders can participate in network management, pay transaction fees, and earn stake rewards.

Astar is a platform designed for the development of decentralized apps (DApps) to create smart contracts in the Web3 ecosystem. There is a blockchain-specific reward system for developers. Approximately 50% of the network’s stake rewards are given to developers.

ASTR is up approximately 12% in the last 7 days and 2.8% in the last 24 hours. Astar Network has recently unveiled the “Astar 2.0 vision” with the aim of enabling billions of people to adopt Web3. The Astar 2.0 vision outlines Astar’s long-term goals for the Astar ecosystem by aligning the network’s tokenomics, organizational structure, and technology pillars with the network’s goal of driving web3 adoption. This positive development may have been instrumental in the rise of ASTR.
