Official Response to XPL Rumors: “Team Tokens Are Not for Sale"

Paul, co-founder of Plasma, addressed recent speculation by clarifying that team and investor tokens remain locked and no sales have taken place.

Following XPL’s launch, social media was rife with claims regarding token activity. Paul explained that team and investor tokens are locked for 3 years with an additional 1-year cliff period, stressing that no sales have occurred so far under these conditions.

Responding to “ex-Blast” allegations about the roughly 50-member team, Paul noted that only three employees had prior experience at Blur or Blast. He emphasized that the broader team includes professionals from leading firms such as Google, Facebook, Square, Temasek, Goldman Sachs, and Nuvei — reinforcing the project’s strong foundation.

Paul also denied any ties with Wintermute, stating that the company has no market-making agreements and that Wintermute holds no XPL beyond what is publicly disclosed. Thanking the community, he concluded: “We are focused on building the future of money. We will not comment further on these rumors.”
