The platform allows developers to charge for websites, datasets, APIs, and AI applications without relying on traditional payment intermediaries, enabling direct stablecoin payments from users.
A new payment model powered by stablecoins
The system combines modern internet protocols with blockchain-based payments through the x402 protocol. When a user or AI agent requests access to a paid resource, the protocol automatically generates a pricing request. Once the stablecoin payment is completed through a digital wallet and verified, access is granted instantly, creating a seamless and transparent payment experience.
With Monetization Gateway, Cloudflare aims to make pay-per-use and access-based monetization significantly easier for developers. By leveraging the open x402 protocol, the company expects to support global payments while helping integrate stablecoins into everyday internet infrastructure and expanding new digital revenue opportunities.
