Ethereum Breaks Record in User Adoption, Surpasses Bitcoin by More Than 3x

Competition between the two largest cryptocurrencies has taken a new turn when looking at on-chain data. According to analysis shared by Santiment, the number of Ethereum wallets holding a balance has surged to 182.74 million, reflecting a parabolic growth trend. In comparison, the Bitcoin network currently has around 58.51 million non-empty wallets.

This means Ethereum now hosts approximately 3.12 times more active wallets than Bitcoin. The gap becomes even more striking when compared with other major crypto assets. Against the leading stablecoin Tether, Ethereum’s wallet count is about 14 times higher, highlighting the scale of its network activity and user base.

Historically, Ethereum first surpassed Bitcoin in total wallet count on February 11, 2019. Since then, the network has continued expanding its ecosystem through decentralized finance applications, smart contracts, and a wide range of blockchain services. Other major assets such as Dogecoin, XRP, and Cardano remain far behind Ethereum in terms of total wallet numbers.
