Kevin Hassett Emerges as Leading Candidate for Fed Chair Role

As expectations rise around who will lead the Federal Reserve next, Kevin Hassett is increasingly seen as the top choice within Trump’s inner circle.

According to Bloomberg, White House National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett has been identified by Trump’s advisors and close allies as the strongest contender for the Fed chair position. Comments from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hinting that the shortlist has narrowed to five names have further strengthened this view.

Hassett’s positive stance toward digital assets and his leadership of the White House Digital Assets Working Group have drawn market attention. His support for rate cuts and his disclosure of holding one million dollars worth of Coinbase stock earlier this year underline his alignment with crypto-friendly policies.

Appearing on Fox News, Hassett said he would gladly accept the role if chosen by Trump. With indications that Trump may announce his pick before the Christmas holiday, all eyes remain on the upcoming transition as Jerome Powell’s term is set to end in May.
