According to the latest announcement, PayPal USD (PYUSD) is now available in 68 additional countries beyond the United States and the United Kingdom. Users in regions such as Colombia, Peru, and Singapore can directly access and use the asset through their PayPal accounts, marking a significant step toward global adoption.
Eligible users in newly supported regions will also be able to purchase and hold PYUSD to earn rewards, although some regions are excluded from this program. The expansion highlights the asset’s advantages in cross-border payments, offering faster and lower-cost transactions compared to traditional financial systems.
Originally launched on the Ethereum network in 2023, PYUSD has since expanded to multiple blockchains, broadening its utility. Its market capitalization has surged from around $1 billion to over $4 billion within eight months, signaling strong growth momentum and intensifying competition in the stablecoin sector while reshaping the future of digital payments.
