S&P Dow Jones and Pantera Launch Crypto Index Featuring 18 Revenue-Generating Altcoins

S&P Dow Jones Indices and Pantera Capital have launched the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index, aiming to bring institutional-grade standards to the cryptocurrency market. Instead of tracking price performance alone, the index focuses on projects with sustainable revenue, real-world utility, and solid economic fundamentals.

The index consists of 18 digital assets and is designed to provide institutional investors with a more transparent and data-driven benchmark. To qualify, projects must have a market capitalization of at least $500 million, meet minimum liquidity requirements, and generate revenue over the previous two quarters, filtering out projects without meaningful economic activity.

Ethereum (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), Solana (SOL), Tron (TRX), and Hyperliquid (HYPE) represent the five largest holdings in the index. According to the published data, the strategy has delivered an annual return of 8.18%, while portfolio allocations are capped at 35% for the largest asset and 20% for the remaining constituents to maintain diversification.
