Strategy, which holds the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin reserve, completed the August 10-16 period without making a new BTC transaction. According to its August 17 SEC filing, the company continued to hold 840,447 BTC, acquired for a total cost of $63.36 billion at an average price of $75,385 per Bitcoin. Meanwhile, Strategy raised $333.7 million in net proceeds by selling approximately 3.46 million MSTR shares.
Rather than deploying the newly raised capital into additional Bitcoin purchases, the company allocated a significant portion to other areas of its balance sheet. Strategy spent approximately $132.2 million to repurchase 1.39 million STRC preferred shares and reserved another $52.4 million to fund STRC dividend payments, placing greater emphasis on capital management during the period.
The remaining $149.1 million was added to Strategy’s cash reserves, lifting its U.S. dollar holdings to $4.80 billion as of August 16. The latest moves do not represent a reduction in the company’s Bitcoin exposure, but they show that Strategy prioritized liquidity and capital allocation over expanding its BTC holdings during the week.
