Japanese Giant Metaplanet Increases Bitcoin Reserves to 5,000 BTC!

Japan-based Metaplanet purchased another 145 Bitcoin (BTC) as part of its treasury management strategy.

The company recently purchased an additional 145 BTC at an average price of $93,327, raising the total value of its Bitcoin holdings to approximately $428.1 million. With this purchase, Metaplanet’s average cost per BTC increased to $85,621.

To track the performance of its Bitcoin investments, Metaplanet uses a proprietary metric called BTC Yield. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the company achieved a BTC Yield of 95.6%, and since the beginning of the year, it has recorded an impressive 121.1% return.

BTC Yield measures the increase in Bitcoin held per share, excluding dilution from stock issuance, and focuses solely on returns from BTC investments. Metaplanet’s strategy sets a strong example for institutional investors considering Bitcoin as a reserve asset.
