Japanese Public Company Boosts Bitcoin Holdings to Over 35,000 BTC

Japan-listed Metaplanet expanded its Bitcoin holdings to 35,102 BTC through aggressive purchases in the final quarter of 2025, while reporting an eye-catching annual BTC yield of 568.2%.

The Japan-based firm intensified its corporate Bitcoin strategy toward the end of 2025. According to figures shared by CEO Simon Gerovich, the company acquired 4,279 BTC during Q4 2025 alone, significantly increasing Bitcoin’s weight on its balance sheet.

These purchases amounted to roughly $451 million, with an average cost of $105,412 per Bitcoin. The move reinforced the company’s position as one of the leading Japanese firms placing Bitcoin at the core of its treasury strategy.

As of December 30, 2025, total Bitcoin holdings reached 35,102 BTC, with a cumulative cost of approximately $3.78 billion. The average acquisition price of $107,606 per BTC suggests that the company continued accumulating even at elevated price levels.
